Tech & Data Program Summer 2027 – Analytics Intern

About the role#

This internship is a summer program within The Hartford’s Technology, Data, AI, and Operations organization. You will work at the intersection of business and technology, applying analytical thinking to solve real-world challenges. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience with data-driven decision-making, mentorship, and professional networking. High-performing interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities.

What you'll do#

• Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across functions including underwriting, claims, finance, and operations.
• Translate business questions into analytical approaches and data requirements.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, or experimentation.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business performance.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and accelerate analysis.
• Present insights and recommendations to business partners and leadership.

What you'll need#

• Current undergraduate or graduate student expecting to graduate in May 2028 with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related analytical field.
• Experience with data analysis tools or programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience with data wrangling and data preparation techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Commitment to ethical decision-making and the responsible use of data.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
