About the role#
The Christman Company is hiring an Assistant Project Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 program in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for students pursuing a degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative and technical support to the project team.
- Assist with document control, management, and the Request for Information (RFI) process.
- Help the Project Manager identify necessary inspections, establish inspection logs, and schedule site visits.
- Support Superintendents by preparing daily reports and managing project progress and quality photos.
- Assist with the logistics of safety initiatives outlined in the site-specific safety plan.
- Summarize discussions from project and owner meetings.
- Review specification books to ensure compliance and project quality.
- Update contract drawings to reflect approved changes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and background screening.
