Engineering Internships - Winter/Spring 2027

About the role#

Engineering Interns at The Boring Company are expected to take ownership of their projects and contribute to the goal of revolutionizing transportation. Interns are given significant responsibility, working alongside full-time staff to develop infrastructure and systems. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term.

What you'll do#

• Design or support the development of systems and sub-systems, including boring machine parts and tunnel infrastructure.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical instrumentation for tunnels and tunnel boring machines.
• Build automation and application software to support the operation, analysis, and control of tunnel boring machines and the Las Vegas Loop.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Prior project experience in mechanical, software, electrical, or construction fields, whether through industry work or school projects.
• Proficiency or experience with CAD, Solidworks, PLCs, digital electronics, web technologies, or software applications.
