About the role#
The Beck Group is hiring Construction Interns for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Tampa, Florida. You will work alongside project teams to support administration, field engineering, and supervision. This role is designed for students interested in project management, superintendent, or preconstruction career paths.
What you'll do#
- Assist the project team with material procurement, identifying scope gaps, quality management, and punch list maintenance.
- Interpret, coordinate, and maintain construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Manage logs for submittals, specifications, and RFIs, plus meeting minutes and as-built drawings.
- Review and expedite shop drawings.
- Update project schedules and use project management software.
- Coordinate tasks with subcontractors and vendors.
- Assist in gathering project closeout documentation.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, conduct safety orientations, and perform regular site inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current college student pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. High school students with a strong interest in construction may also be considered.
- A fundamental understanding of project documents.
- Experience with Excel, Bluebeam, and Revit or similar construction technologies.
- Previous internships within an architectural, engineering, or commercial construction company are preferred.
- Ability to work on a job site, which includes moving equipment up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders and stairs, and working in outdoor weather conditions.
