About the role#
The Consultant Development Program is a paid internship designed to prepare you for a career as an Information Security Associate. You will join the Threat team to build both technical and business skills through hands-on client work and training. This program runs from January 25 to April 2, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Participate in internal, external, and web application penetration tests.
- Shadow penetration testers to learn in real-world scenarios.
- Study testing methodologies in training labs.
- Write executive and technical summaries of test results.
- Communicate project status and findings to clients.
- Assist consultants with client engagements and project delivery.
- Document execution procedures and provide insights into the technologies involved.
- Learn about industry standards like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
- Observe the implementation of enterprise security solutions.
- Plan and execute technical tasks to meet business requirements.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree or current enrollment at an accredited 4-year university or military equivalent.
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts like firewalls, routers, switches, and DNS.
- Experience with computer troubleshooting and server systems administration.
- Familiarity with business planning and accounting.
- Intermediate skills in Excel and Word.
- Excellent writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
- Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.
- A self-starter mindset with a curiosity for tinkering and learning.
- Majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks or relevant IT and security certifications are a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site role located in either Irvine, California, or Fairfax, Virginia.
- The internship term is Winter 2027.
- This position is paid and includes paid sick time off.
