About the role#
The Cybersecurity Consultant Development Program is a paid internship designed to build the technical and professional skills required to work as an Information Security Associate. You will join the client-facing consulting team, working within the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) practice area to assist with project delivery and client engagements.
What you'll do#
- Assist in data collection by joining interviews with client subject matter experts.
- Create templates and procedures for ISO Compliance and Risk solutions.
- Assess client security posture against ISO 27000 series standards.
- Support the development of ISO 27001-compliant Information Security Management Systems.
- Aid organizations in aligning their systems with ISO 27018 and 27701 standards.
- Help develop ISO 22301-compliant Business Continuity Management Systems.
- Observe and assist with internal and external penetration testing and social engineering projects.
- Plan and execute technical project tasks, gather requirements, and document procedures.
- Write and deliver client reports while developing skills for billable project work.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree or current enrollment at an accredited 4-year university, or military equivalent.
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as firewalls, routers, switches, and DNS.
- Experience with computer troubleshooting and server systems administration.
- Understanding of business planning and accounting.
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Excellent writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- A self-starter mindset with an interest in independent learning and tinkering.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and relevant IT or Cybersecurity certifications are preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in either Irvine, California, or Fairfax, Virginia.
- The program term is Winter 2027.
- This position is paid and does not offer sponsorship.
