About the role#
The Consultant Development Program is a paid internship designed to build your technical and professional skills for a career in information security. You will join our SOC team as a Developing Consultant, working directly on client-facing projects. This role bridges the gap between technology and business, preparing you for a potential full-time position as an Information Security Associate.
What you'll do#
- Perform SOC assessments across various industries to help protect sensitive data.
- Help clients fix security control deficiencies by developing policies and recommending business process improvements.
- Provide augmented staff support within client organizations to maintain their security and compliance programs.
- Assist senior consultants with client engagements and project delivery.
- Plan and execute technical tasks, including gathering requirements and documenting procedures.
- Observe and assist with penetration testing, social engineering, and enterprise security solution implementations.
- Learn about industry standards and frameworks like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited 4-year university, or military equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Basic familiarity with networking (firewalls, routers, switches, DNS), server systems administration, and computer troubleshooting.
- Understanding of business planning and accounting principles.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
- Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.
- A self-starter mindset with an interest in independent learning.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks or existing IT and cybersecurity certifications are a plus.
