About the role#
The Cybersecurity Consultant Development Program is a paid internship for students or graduates looking to build technical and professional skills. You will join our Payments team as a Developing Consultant. The program focuses on preparing you for a potential full-time role as an Information Security Associate. You will work on client-facing projects and learn how to navigate the intersection of business and technology.
What you'll do#
- Support organizations across various industries in protecting credit card data.
- Perform technology and process control assessments to ensure compliance with PCI DSS.
- Conduct Payment Application (PA-DSS) technical control assessments.
- Provide general advisement to help clients navigate compliance requirements.
- Develop the technical and business skills necessary to perform billable project work.
- Learn about industry standards and frameworks like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
- Observe and assist with internal and external penetration testing and social engineering projects.
- Plan, document, and execute technical projects based on business requirements.
- Assist senior consultants with client engagements.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year university or military equivalent, or current enrollment in such a program.
- Familiarity with networking concepts like firewalls, routers, switches, and DNS.
- Experience with computer troubleshooting and server systems administration.
- Understanding of business planning and accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
- Ability to multitask and manage your time effectively.
- A self-starter mindset with a curiosity for learning new technologies.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and relevant IT or Cybersecurity certifications are considered a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship for the Winter 2027 term, running from January 25 to April 2.
- You must be able to work on-site at our Fairfax, VA, or Irvine, CA, office.
- This position is paid.
