About the role#
The Cybersecurity Consultant Development Program is a paid internship designed to help you build the technical and professional skills needed for a career in information security. As a Developing Consultant, you will join our client-facing team to support project delivery across our solutions practice. This program runs from January 25 to April 2, 2027. Successful completion may lead to a full-time offer as an Information Security Associate.
What you'll do#
You will work directly with consultants on client engagements while learning the fundamentals of our business. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing the skills required to perform billable project work.
- Learning about industry frameworks like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
- Observing and assisting with penetration testing and social engineering projects.
- Planning and executing technical projects to meet specific business requirements.
- Documenting procedures and providing insights into the technologies used.
- Studying industry-standard certifications.
What you'll need#
We look for technologists who understand how business and technology intersect. You should have a bachelor's degree or be currently enrolled at an accredited 4-year university, or hold the military equivalent. You should also have:
- Basic familiarity with networking (firewalls, routers, switches, DNS), server administration, and computer troubleshooting.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Strong writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
- An ability to manage multiple tasks and your own time.
- A self-starter mindset who enjoys tinkering and learning independently.
- Basic familiarity with business planning and accounting.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and existing IT or security certifications are a plus.
Location & details#
This is a full-time, on-site role. You must be eligible to work in the United States. The internship is located in either Irvine, California, or Fairfax, Virginia. Compensation is 27 dollars per hour, and the role includes paid sick time off.
