About the role#
The Cybersecurity Consultant Development Program is a paid, immersive internship. It helps you build the technical and professional skills needed to work as a full-time Information Security Associate. You will join our Federal team, working with defense contractors, financial institutions, and telecommunication systems to maintain security programs that meet government standards. This program runs from January 25 to April 2, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop the skills needed to perform billable project work.
- Learn about industry-standard certifications.
- Study national and international frameworks like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001, FISMA, FedRAMP, DFARS, NERC, NYDFS, CMMC, and StateRAMP.
- Observe the implementation of enterprise security solutions.
- Assist with internal and external penetration testing and social engineering projects.
- Plan, document, and execute technical projects to meet business requirements.
- Provide professional insights into the technologies used during client engagements.
- Conduct assessments and develop governance programs.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree or current enrollment at an accredited 4-year university or military equivalent.
- Majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
- Basic familiarity with networking (firewalls, routers, switches, DNS), computer troubleshooting, server systems administration, and business accounting.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Excellent writing skills for technical and expository documentation.
- Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.
- A self-starter mindset.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and IT or cybersecurity certifications are preferred.

- This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Locations: Fairfax, Virginia, or Irvine, California.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- This role is paid and includes paid sick time off.
