About the role#
As a Software Developer Co-op at TechInsights, you will work alongside our architecture and development teams to build solutions that support our semiconductor intelligence platform. You will report to an Agile Development Manager and focus on areas such as large-scale image processing, circuit engineering workflows, and front-end development. This role involves learning to quantify technical risks and participating in engineering discussions that shape our development direction.
What you'll do#
- Design software systems that meet business requirements, including mapping requirements to technology stacks.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deploy systems alongside CloudOps specialists.
- Implement front-end and back-end software solutions.
- Review and provide feedback on platform architecture and design.
- Develop proof-of-concepts to explore technical challenges and present findings to the team.
- Document intellectual property and maintain technical documentation.
- Contribute to platform observability by emitting telemetry and monitoring events.
- Provide real-time DevOps support, including bug triage and troubleshooting.
- Assist with end-customer technical support during high-severity platform situations.
- Coordinate with engineering teams on technical investigations and verify technical proposals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program for Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience developing software programs and knowledge of software architecture principles.
- Experience working on complex software projects within an Agile environment.
- Background in building technical integrated products, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and set realistic commitments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A bias for action and iteration.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position located in Ottawa, Ontario.
- The role operates on a rolling term basis.
