About the role#
TechInsights is looking for a QA Test Automation Co-op student to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in Ottawa, collaborating with our software development and QA teams to improve the quality of the TechInsights Platform. This role focuses on building automated test scripts and creating tools to track performance metrics.
What you'll do#
- Design and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Work with developers to understand project requirements and design test cases.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Run tests, analyze results, and investigate defects to help developers with troubleshooting.
- Conduct root cause analysis for identified issues.
- Build automated tools to generate reports on QA performance and defect trends.
- Create user-friendly dashboards to visualize key metrics and streamline data reporting.
What you'll need#
- Currently in your 3rd or 4th year of a Computer Science degree or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or other scripting languages.
- Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with Git for version control.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Ottawa, Ontario.
- The term for this position is Winter 2027.
- Candidates must provide citizenship or permanent residency information to comply with U.S. Export Control Laws.
