About the role#

This internship is exclusively for current Target interns. The role focuses on developing leadership skills within a retail environment, managing teams, and driving business performance. You will gain experience in guest service fundamentals, talent management, and operational planning while working in a full-time capacity.

What you'll do#

• Create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience and supports sales goals.
• Manage leaders to ensure training completion and provide continuous education.
• Engage in meaningful development conversations with team leaders.
• Establish a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations and providing performance feedback.
• Respond to negative guest experiences by de-escalating situations and supporting your team in resolving issues.
• Partner with team leaders to create scheduling plans based on business workload and guest traffic.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance while holding others accountable to these standards.

What you'll need#

• A 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong business acumen and cognitive skills, including problem analysis and decision-making.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage conflict, lead others, and hold team members accountable.
• Capability to learn and adapt to technology needs and prioritize tasks independently.
• Ability to access all areas of the store, interpret reports, and handle merchandise (including lifting up to 40 pounds).
• Ability to handle cash register operations and maintain a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Preferred academic backgrounds include Business Administration, Marketing, or Human Resources.
