PRN Student Nurse Extern- Emergency Room

About the role#

This externship provides practical experience for senior-level nursing students in an Emergency Room setting. Working under the continuous, direct, on-site supervision of a designated Registered Nurse, you will gain hands-on experience while supporting the delivery of safe, effective patient care. This is a 10-week paid program requiring a full-time commitment for the duration of the externship.

What you'll do#

• Assist nursing staff with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and recording vital signs.
• Perform patient care activities and treatments for which you have documented competency under RN supervision.
• Identify the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients.
• Communicate patient and family needs to the nursing team.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain high-quality care standards.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment in the patient care area.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a board-approved pre-licensure nursing program with completion of your Junior Year.
• Successful completion of a skills checklist at your school of nursing.
• Ability to commit in advance to all 10 weeks of the full-time externship.
• Readiness to complete orientation and on-the-job training as required.
