About the role#
This internship offers the opportunity to work on analog and mixed signal circuit design for high-speed SERDES IPs. You will work with the latest FinFET process nodes and contribute to the development of DesignWare IP. This is a full-time, paid position based in Mississauga, Ontario for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Design high-speed SERDES IPs using advanced FinFET process nodes.
- Address circuit design challenges, including performance optimization and methodology improvements.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers.
- Use industry-standard IC design and EDA tools.
- Contribute to the development of DesignWare IP.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or final-year undergraduate status in these fields.
- Understanding of transistor-level circuit design and CMOS design fundamentals.
- Knowledge of SERDES sub-circuits, including data samplers, equalizers, drivers, serializers, deserializers, oscillators, and phase-locked loops.
- Experience with EDA tools for schematic entry, physical layout, and design verification.
- Knowledge of Verilog-A or System-Verilog for behavioral modeling and simulation.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like TCL, Perl, C, Python, or MATLAB.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
