About the role#
SVA is hiring an Accounting Intern for the Winter 2028 term. This paid, full-time position provides hands-on experience in tax, audit, and management advisory services. You will work alongside our team during the busy season, performing tasks similar to an entry-level staff accountant. Interns receive training on our systems and are paired with a People Leader and a Buddy to support their work and onboarding.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, trusts, and business entities.
- Create support workpapers and assist with tax extensions and Forms 1099.
- Calculate depreciation and amortization schedules.
- Research federal and state tax issues.
- Review returns for inconsistencies or missing information.
- Complete audits, reviews, and compilations.
- Prepare financial statements and analytic workpapers to identify trends.
- Post journal entries to the working trial balance.
- Prepare business and individual tax projections.
- Assist with complex Excel spreadsheets for data analytics and valuations.
- Support special accounting projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of college experience is preferred.
