About the role#
SVA is hiring an Accounting Intern for the Winter 2028 term. This is a paid, full-time position based in our Brookfield, Wisconsin office. You will work alongside our team in tax, audit, and management advisory services to gain hands-on experience in a professional firm environment. Interns receive training on our systems and are paired with a People Leader and a Buddy to guide their work and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns, support workpapers, and extensions for individuals, trusts, and business entities.
- Calculate depreciation and amortization schedules.
- Research federal and state tax issues and review returns for accuracy.
- Complete audits, reviews, and compilations.
- Prepare financial statements and analytic workpapers to identify trends.
- Post journal entries and adjustments to the trial balance.
- Prepare tax projections and financial reports.
- Assist with complex Excel spreadsheets and special accounting projects.
- Gain experience using various accounting software.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of college experience is preferred.
