About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in sports business operations within a youth soccer organization. Interns will assist with market research, business development, and marketing initiatives for programs across Long Island and Eastern Queens. This is an unpaid position, though students may arrange for college credit through their academic institutions.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of partnerships and outreach programs to expand business presence.
- Assist in managing relationships with existing partners alongside the President and Partnerships Coordinator.
- Collaborate on marketing campaigns to promote classes and events.
- Assist in creating strategies to target new customers and broaden program offerings.
- Manage social media accounts and create engaging content.
- Identify industry trends and conduct competitor research regarding programs and pricing.
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks to support daily business functions.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in business, sports, youth development, or operations.
- Self-starter mindset with excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with partners, coaches, and staff.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Access to a working laptop.
- Willingness to travel locally for site visits with your own transportation.
- Soccer experience is a plus but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: West Hempstead, New York.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Commitment: Minimum of 22 hours per week.
- Schedule: Requires availability on Saturday or Sunday mornings between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
