About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in hotel engineering through a structured apprenticeship program. You will work alongside experienced engineering leadership to maintain hotel facilities, guest rooms, and critical building systems. The goal is to ensure that the hotel remains safe, functional, and efficient for all guests.
What you'll do#
- Participate in daily operations within the Engineering Department.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders for guest rooms and public spaces.
- Assist with the repair of lighting, plumbing, HVAC, locks, and furniture.
- Carry out inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.
- Support the maintenance of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and life safety equipment.
- Document completed work, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Organize engineering tools, supplies, and workshop areas.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and front desk teams to address maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety policies and engineering procedures.
What you'll need#
- An interest in hotel engineering, facilities operations, or building maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established procedures and safety requirements.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with guests and staff.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn work order systems.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and lift materials.
- Technical education or experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems is a plus, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
