About the role#
STV is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Buildings team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid position that involves working alongside experienced professionals on various building projects. We prefer candidates who can commit to a full-time schedule for at least 3 months.
What you'll do#
- Assist with HVAC designs, calculations, and reports.
- Select equipment and write specifications.
- Lead specific project tasks under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Mentor junior staff members as needed.
- Meet with clients to discuss project requirements and offer recommendations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, traffic, and geotechnical engineers.
- Plan and organize engineering activities for construction and maintenance projects.
- Evaluate and apply engineering techniques and procedures.
- Develop solutions for engineering problems.
- Prepare or modify drawings, charts, graphs, and calculations.
- Monitor work to ensure it meets applicable codes and practices.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

- This role is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
