About the role#
Stanford Sierra Youth & Families is seeking a Clinical Student Intern to support our Family Preservation program. This is an unpaid, part-time internship opportunity located in Grass Valley, California. You will gain hands-on experience by providing mental health services to at-risk children, youth, and families.
What you'll do#
- Deliver strength-based and culturally competent mental health services, including psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Meet with clients in their homes, schools, offices, or other community settings.
- Provide Intensive Home Based Services and individual rehabilitation based on established treatment plans.
- Offer collateral support to caregivers and significant support persons.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including Child Family Team, school, court, and psychiatric meetings.
- Coordinate initial intake meetings and assist with the development of treatment plans and safety plans.
- Document billable and non-billable services according to Medi-Cal requirements.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate skill-building groups.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and attend regular clinical supervision and staff meetings.
- Arrange safe transportation for clients to services when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s level degree program working toward licensure as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor.
- Current enrollment in an internship or practicum course for Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
