About the role#
Squarepoint is looking for students to join our software developer internship program in Montreal. This role provides an introduction to the technical side of the algorithmic trading industry. You will work with teams like data engineering, risk, market data, and quant development. This is a full-time, paid position with a minimum duration of 12 weeks. We offer rolling start dates throughout the year.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to build and deliver custom software solutions.
- Work with mentors on projects that have a direct impact on our business.
- Write code to support active trading with the markets.
- Complete independent programming tasks using Python or C++.
- Attend social events to network with other employees.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- You are in your penultimate year of study.
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages including Python, C++, Java, Rust, or C.
- Familiarity with Unix systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
