About the role#
The Digital Testing & Optimization Internship provides an opportunity to support strategic initiatives and collaborate across teams at Southwest Airlines. You will work on projects from start to finish, partnering with various departments to deliver key business outcomes. The internship concludes with a capstone presentation delivered to department leaders and stakeholders.
What you'll do#
- Support the Projects Team with coordination, tracking deliverables, and documenting updates.
- Assist in building and quality-assuring A/B and multivariate test variations, including copy, layout, and images.
- Monitor live tests for health checks and flag anomalies.
- Pull and organize test results from testing platforms and Adobe Analytics.
- Draft hypotheses for potential tests based on customer behavior and pain points.
- Build and maintain dashboards in Adobe Analytics Workspace and pull performance data for digital activations.
- Support root-cause analysis on metric anomalies and translate raw data into slides and charts.
- Participate in meetings, capture notes, and track action items.
- Research industry testing trends and tools to share findings with the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Progress toward a degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to express ideas clearly in written documents.
- At least 18 years of age with a valid U.S. Social Security Number.
- Experience with Excel, Outlook, and Access is preferred.
- Knowledge of 5S or Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in aviation or previous leadership experience is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 12-week on-site internship located at the corporate campus in Dallas, Texas.
- The program runs from May 18 through August 8, 2027.
- You will work 40 hours per week during business hours.
- Equipment such as a laptop is provided.
