Pharmacy Intern- South Campus Pharmacy

About the role#

The Pharmacy Intern at the South Campus Pharmacy works under the direct supervision of pharmacists and the Pharmacy Manager. This role supports the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring accurate medication preparation, inventory management, and patient service. This is a contingent position, with hours scheduled as needed.

What you'll do#

• Assist pharmacists with the preparation and distribution of medications, including I.V. solutions and sterile preparations.
• Perform inventory management, including stock replacement, reconciliation, and checking incoming supply orders.
• Profile physician orders in the computer system for pharmacist review and enter patient charges or credits.
• Support clinical operations by filling inpatient carts, restocking anesthesia carts in the OR, and delivering medications to nursing units.
• Conduct audits and recognize discrepancies, including those related to narcotics.
• Manage patient assistance programs by identifying available medications, coordinating with physicians, and assisting patients with enrollment documentation.
• Provide service to patients and staff via the pharmacy window and telephone inquiries.
• Educate patients on their responsibilities regarding prescription re-ordering.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in an approved school of pharmacy.
• Valid PhIL(OH) licensure.
