About the role#
This position offers an opportunity to participate in a global academic research project focused on local journalism. The role involves conducting primary research, managing participant data, and assisting with administrative tasks. Training and project orientation will be provided to the successful candidate.
What you'll do#
- Draft a list of potential interview participants for approval.
- Contact potential research participants to schedule interviews.
- Conduct interviews with participants.
- Maintain accurate records of interviews and participant consent forms.
- Organize and manage interview data.
- Perform related secondary research and administrative duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current or future enrollment as an SAIT student with active registration during the period of employment.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and videoconferencing software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with research team members and community contacts.
- Demonstrated ability to ask questions and listen attentively with accuracy for detail.
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous related research experience.
- Relevant fields of study include Communications, Business Administration, Psychology, or Journalism.

- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Term: Summer 2027 (ending July 15, 2027).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (remote work with required in-person attendance on campus for planning and collaboration).
