About the role#
SkyWest Airlines is hiring a Flight Operations Training Intern to join our team at the Salt Lake City Flight Training Center. This is a paid position requiring 8 hours of work per week. You will receive travel benefits on SkyWest and our major partners while gaining insight into our flight training operations.
What you'll do#
- Review new hire pilot logbooks, certificates, endorsements, and transcripts.
- Verify that new hire pilots meet the experience requirements for the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, specifically under 61.159 and 61.160.
- Assist the Director of Training in ensuring compliance with experience standards.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies regarding experience requirements.
- Communicate training issues to leadership for resolution.
- Observe ground and simulator training sessions.
What you'll need#
- At least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Current Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings.
- Current Certified Flight Instructor Certificate.
- English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE) on your Airman Certificate.
- Total flight time between 400 and 1200 hours, including 100 hours of dual instruction given.
- Experience verifying pilot logbooks for FAA check rides and familiarity with logbook requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and personal reliability.
- Preference is given to current SkyWest Cadets in the Pilot Pathway Program enrolled in a SkyWest Elite Partner school.
Location & details#
- Location: Salt Lake City, Utah (on-site at our SLC Training Facility).
- Availability: Must be available to work on Tuesdays.
- Compensation: $27.50 per hour.
