About the role#
Skytop Lodge is hiring Pastry Externs for the Summer and Fall 2027 seasons. This role offers students the chance to work with our pastry team and gain experience in baking and pastry arts. Externs may be considered for full-time positions after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Pastry Chef with cake decoration and pastry preparation.
- Produce plated desserts for resort guests.
- Maintain organized inventory and stock levels.
- Check BEOs to prepare for special functions.
- Rotate, label, and date all items in freezers and refrigerators daily.
- Ensure the bakery section follows all health and safety regulations.
- Keep bake shop equipment clean and in working order.
- Help the team maintain quality standards for all pastry products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a hotel, restaurant, culinary, or baking program.
- At least 6 months of prior experience in the culinary field.
- Knowledge of baking and pastry techniques.
- Ability to use standard baking equipment and utensils.
- Understanding of recipes and scaling requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tasks efficiently.
- Dependability, punctuality, and strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for working with management and staff.
- Physical ability to stand for long hours, walk throughout the shift, and lift 50 pounds.

- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Requires flexibility, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
