About the role#
The Legacy Fellowship is a year-long leadership residency for recent college graduates. Running from mid-August 2027 through August 2028, this program focuses on work experience, spiritual formation, and servant leadership within a Christian camp setting. You will serve in a ministerial role while learning to lead programs and camp operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist retreat groups by setting up meeting rooms, facilitating activities, and helping guests with arrivals and departures.
- Participate in community team building, Bible study, and experiential leadership development.
- Serve in a ministerial capacity, which includes leading devotional times, praying with individuals, and mentoring coworkers.
- Handle written correspondence and answer phones.
- Rotate through camp operations at Horn Creek, including maintenance, food service, hospitality, housekeeping, administration, and retail.
- Perform cost analysis and manage operational reports.
- Take on a leadership role during summer camp sessions.
- Maintain compliance with employee policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Prior experience in camp ministry is preferred, ideally at least one year or one summer.
- A commitment to Christian principles and the ability to support the Sky Ranch Doctrinal Statement.
- Active membership in a church with beliefs aligned with the organization.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in English, with excellent listening and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise independent thinking, initiative, and sound judgment in complex situations.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring agility, such as bending, reaching, and climbing.
- An annual clear background check.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site fellowship located in Westcliffe, Colorado.
- You are required to reside in on-camp housing for the duration of the program.
- The fellowship spans Fall 2027, Winter 2027, Spring 2028, and Summer 2028.
About Sky Ranch
Sky Ranch is a nonprofit Christian camping organization founded in 1955. It operates locations across Texas, Colorado, and Oklahoma to provide recreational programs for youth and families. The organization offers summer camps, wilderness programs, and retreats throughout the year. It maintains a staff of several hundred employees to support its mission of ministry and outdoor education.
