About the role#
The Legacy Fellowship is a year-long leadership internship designed for recent college graduates. Running from mid-August through August of the following year, this program focuses on work experience, Biblical community, spiritual formation, and servant leadership within a Christian camp setting. Fellows gain hands-on experience in camp operations and ministry while serving in leadership roles during summer camp sessions.
What you'll do#
- Assist with retreat group needs, including room setup and activity facilitation.
- Serve in a ministerial capacity by leading devotions, praying with individuals, and mentoring coworkers.
- Participate in community team building, Bible studies, and experiential leadership development.
- Handle written correspondence and answer phones.
- Perform cost analysis and management reporting.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and state or federal laws.
- Teach Outdoor Education classes or assist with camp operations such as maintenance, food service, housekeeping, and administration depending on location.
- Lead in various summer camp sessions.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least one year or one summer of related experience in camp ministry.
- A personal spiritual discipline that supports healthy, proactive living.
- Commitment to Christian principles and full support of the Sky Ranch Doctrinal Statement.
- Active membership in a church aligned with the organization's spiritual beliefs.
- Ability to exercise independent thinking, maintain confidentiality, and build mutual trust within a team.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills in English.
- Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, and make effective decisions.
- Willingness to travel and work in various locations.
- Must pass an annual background check and child safety review.
Location & details#
- Locations: Van, Texas and Colorado.
- Term: Fall 2027, Winter 2027, and Summer 2028.
- Modality: On-site, with mandatory residence in on-camp housing.
- Employment: Full-time, paid position.
About Sky Ranch
Sky Ranch is a nonprofit Christian camping organization founded in 1955. It operates locations across Texas, Colorado, and Oklahoma to provide recreational programs for youth and families. The organization offers summer camps, wilderness programs, and retreats throughout the year. It maintains a staff of several hundred employees to support its mission of ministry and outdoor education.
