About the role#
Simtra BioPharma Solutions is seeking a motivated student for the 2026 Automation Engineer Fall Co-Op program. The Process Automation and Controls team focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance through digital transformation. You will work alongside industry professionals on real-world projects that contribute to clinical research and manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Assist in designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions using data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify areas for automation and digital transformation.
- Conduct troubleshooting and testing of automated systems to ensure functionality and compliance.
- Participate in key projects using Ignition SCADA, PLCs, and SCW.
- Collaborate with industry experts to solve technical problems.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student pursuing a BS or MS degree in Automation, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of process automation, industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA), and data analysis.
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other programming languages.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a strong attention to detail.
