About the role#
Silverado Contractors, Inc. offers a summer internship program for students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. You will join a project team to gain experience in the construction industry. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Emeryville, California, lasting between 6 and 10 weeks. You will work alongside project managers and other stakeholders to complete daily tasks and deliverables.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate field conditions and assist with acceptance testing.
- Support quality assurance and quality control testing for engineering materials.
- Review project drawings and manage RFIs and contract changes.
- Track quantities and analyze productivity to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project schedules.
- Provide document control for submittals, correspondence, and design releases.
- Help project engineers design temporary structures using computer-aided tools.
- Verify contract payments and coordinate with subcontractors in the field.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering, Construction Management, or similar program.
- Ability to communicate and work with all levels of personnel and management.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and conceptual skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and project management or scheduling software.
- Ability to work productively within a team and independently.
