About the role#
Signicast is hiring engineering interns for the Summer 2027 term at our Hartford facility. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work directly with experienced engineers and receive mentorship while contributing to real-world manufacturing projects. At the end of the summer, you will present a Capstone Research Project to our executive leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Run samples and experiments to investigate technical problems.
- Assist with prototyping and the concurrent engineering of new parts.
- Optimize parameters for the investment casting process.
- Collect process data and review customer returns.
- Complete a Capstone Research Project.
- Handle process engineering tasks like mold setup, gate design, and solidification modeling.
- Manage project engineering duties, including new product launches from design through shipping.
- Support manufacturing engineering needs for existing production products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical or Ceramics Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, adaptable approach to work.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
