Intern, Industrial Design

About the role#

The Industrial Design Intern will work within the Industrial Design team as part of the Research and Development department. This role supports the development of design solutions and the effective communication of design concepts for the Fall 2026 semester.

What you'll do#

• Compile research data and gather reference materials to support design efforts.
• Conduct ergonomic studies under the guidance of the Industrial Design team.
• Fit and test rapid prototyped parts.
• Incorporate product management specifications into design concepts.
• Conceptualize and develop products with direction from senior designers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to support product commercialization.
• Maintain standards for color, texture, and innovation management.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and maintain 5S standards.

What you'll need#

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Developing proficiency in 2D design software and surface modeling in SolidWorks.
• Portfolio demonstrating evolving design communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience using and maintaining firearms or interest in outdoor activities is preferred.

Location & details#

• Location: Exeter, New Hampshire (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (September–December).
• Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
• Requirements: Must be able to travel, lift up to 25 pounds, and adhere to all safety, security, and ISO procedures.
