About the role#
ServisFirst Bank is hiring a Credit Analyst Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Birmingham, Alabama. You will support the credit team by evaluating financial data and assisting with loan underwriting processes.
What you'll do#
- Determine the creditworthiness of potential clients by reviewing financial statements, borrowing history, and market conditions.
- Prepare appraisals using financial models, credit reports, and key ratios.
- Conduct financial analysis and underwriting for new loan requests and loan maturities.
- Update electronic credit files by imaging loan and financial documents.
- Contact Loan Officers to collect necessary financial information, such as tax returns and balance sheets.
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of client credit to help determine loan terms.
- Run reports on past or current maturities and generate various monthly reports, including collateral exception and loan type summaries.
- Follow all applicable banking regulations and internal policies.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status with a major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience in a role that requires data analysis and attention to detail.
- Ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
