About the role#
Service Wire Company is hiring an Accounting Intern to join the Financial Planning and Analysis team in Culloden, West Virginia. This role supports the Accounts Receivable department with payment collections and account maintenance. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain insight into credit management processes during the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with collections and maintain customer accounts, including account adjustments and reconciliation.
- Track incoming payments, resolve discrepancies, and handle necessary adjustments.
- Research customer disputes regarding remaining balances, debit memorandums, and unapplied payments.
- Communicate with customers and team members to address payment inquiries.
- Manage documentation by scanning paperwork, monitoring upload accuracy, and organizing files.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance team effectiveness.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Credit Manager.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college program, preferably as a junior or senior, studying Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information.
- A cooperative attitude toward working with team members and external customers.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Culloden, West Virginia.
- The term for this position is Winter 2027.
