    About the role#

    The Norm Gleichman Law Fellowship offers law graduates, judicial clerks, and third-year law students the chance to work within the SEIU Legal Department. This program provides exposure to a variety of legal issues focused on the advancement of workers' interests. Fellows work alongside experienced union-side lawyers during a term of up to two years.

    What you'll do#

    Fellows participate in many areas of the department's work. Responsibilities include:

    • Litigating to enforce the labor and employment rights of union members.
    • Handling matters before the National Labor Relations Board.
    • Drafting amicus briefs to support workers' rights.
    • Providing advice and assistance to staff organizers during campaigns.
    • Contributing to policy and legislative initiatives.
    • Participating in the SEIU political program.

    What you'll need#

    We are looking for candidates who possess a strong interest in practicing union-side labor law. You must have a demonstrated commitment to workers' rights and excellent research and writing skills. Applicants must be a law school graduate, a current judicial clerk, or a third-year law student.

    Location & details#

    This position is based in Washington, DC. It is a full-time, on-site role starting in the fall of 2027. This is a paid fellowship.
