About the role#
This is a 3-month internship for Summer 2027 based in Neenah, Wisconsin. You will work with the actuarial team to support rate reviews, competitive analyses, modeling, and business reporting. This role provides training and professional experience regarding the function of actuarial and data science within the property and casualty insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing support data for the rate review process across commercial, specialty, agribusiness, and farm lines.
- Apply current ratemaking methodologies to develop rate indications.
- Conduct strategic research and peer company analyses using various sources and tools.
- Prepare and analyze actuarial data on a monthly and quarterly basis while identifying key trends.
- Participate in projects supporting business units, including planning, reserving, claims, marketing, reinsurance, and modeling.
What you'll need#
- Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Advanced data analysis skills, including the ability to design and operate complex Excel spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use automation tools to improve the accuracy and timeliness of reports.
- Strong attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Coding experience in Python is considered a plus.
