About the role#
This paid internship offers students real-world experience within a branch setting. You will work with a designated mentor to gain cross-functional training and develop professional skills during the Winter 2027 term. The program is designed to provide project-based learning for rising Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate students.
What you'll do#
- Complete an assigned research project and present your findings to leadership at the end of the program.
- Collaborate with branch staff and other departments to support your research.
- Learn about SECU products and services to provide helpful recommendations to members.
- Gain exposure to daily branch operations and services.
- Handle administrative tasks including greeting members, answering phones, and filing paperwork.
- Provide customer service to members during your daily interactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited college or university in North Carolina.
- Current standing as a rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.
- A minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to commit to a 10 to 12-week program for at least 10 hours per week.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, CPT, or OPT.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Cullowhee or Granite Falls, North Carolina.
- The role involves office work with requirements to sit, stand, or bend for long periods and lift up to 5 lbs.
