About the role#

This position is for a Student/Casual Food Store Clerk I based at the Gravelbourg Food Store. This role involves a variety of operational tasks including customer service, merchandising, and product preparation. The position requires the ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

What you'll do#

• Provide customer service by assisting customers and sharing product knowledge.
• Operate the Point of Sale system, package customer purchases, and provide efficient service.
• Stock food merchandise according to company policies and procedures.
• Perform housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, filling, and facing shelves.
• Assist in the preparation of in-store products, including bakery items, sausage, and hamburger.
• Maintain meat department standards by traying, wrapping, and pricing products, and ensuring cases are properly merchandised.
• Perform receiving, counting, and sorting of merchandise.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely and adhere to sanitation and safety policies.

What you'll need#

• Experience in the procurement of merchandise.
• Excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to solve problems effectively.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including heavy lifting, climbing, and kneeling.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training.
• Enrollment in or completion of studies in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Marketing is preferred.
