About the role#
Salesforce AI Labs is seeking emerging talent for a 12-week summer internship. This program is designed to develop the next generation of AI builders by embedding interns within one of four disciplines: Build, Shape, Deliver, or Transform. You will work alongside researchers, engineers, and product managers to tackle technical and customer challenges at an enterprise scale. This internship serves as a potential feeder into the 24-month AI Labs Rotational Fellowship.
What you'll do#
- Build and deliver AI solutions by contributing to meaningful projects.
- Gain hands-on experience with AI-native development tools, AI agents, and emerging technologies.
- Partner with interns on a cross-functional capstone project.
- Take ownership of assigned projects from problem definition through delivery.
- Present your capstone project at an in-person Demo Day to an executive panel.
- Engage with teams through mentorship, workshops, and cohort experiences.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical discipline.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, software engineering, and technical problem-solving.
- Experience developing software through academic projects, research, internships, or independent technical projects.
- Proficiency in Python and experience building software, AI, or machine learning applications.
- Understanding of core AI/ML concepts and experience using modern AI development tools.
- Demonstrated curiosity, high ownership, and ability to solve complex problems in ambiguous environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Portfolio evidence of building, deploying, or open-sourcing software or AI applications is preferred.
- Previous internship, research, or project experience in software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, product development, or solutions architecture is preferred.
- Experience working across engineering, product, design, or customer-facing teams is preferred.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, scalable data processing frameworks (Spark, SQL), or MLOps pipelines is preferred.
