The Nursing Intern for the Medical Intermediate Float Pool supports the healthcare team by providing direct and indirect patient care. This role is designed for nursing students to gain clinical experience under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while performing non-licensed tasks and technical procedures validated by unit competency.
What you'll do#
- Perform clinical procedures and patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist other healthcare team members with daily operational support.
- Execute technical tasks following successful unit competency validation.
- Focus exclusively on non-licensed tasks within the scope of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program.
- Completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course.
- Expected graduation date in 2026/2027 or 2027/2028.
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
- Valid Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
Location & details#
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: PRN, with a minimum requirement of one shift per six-week schedule.
- Status: Paid, non-full-time position.
