About the role#
The TO Youth Co-Op position provides students with on-the-job learning experiences. You will work under the supervision of a Department Manager to provide direct and indirect services to the community and customers. This role is intended to expose youth to meaningful work activities that may lead to future career opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Greet the public and direct them to the appropriate staff or destination.
- Assist with various department program needs.
- Provide information to the public about department programs and services.
- Deliver customer service to internal and external customers and offer solutions for concerns.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and present a professional demeanor.
- Complete department-specific trainings and follow Tribal Operations policies.
What you'll need#
- You must be a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and enrolled in the 11th or 12th grade.
- You must be eligible to earn high school credits and obtain a work permit from a Michigan-accredited high school.
- You must provide a letter from your high school advisor or counselor recommending your participation.
- Knowledge of business English, grammar, spelling, and basic arithmetic.
- Skill in operating office machines and Windows-based computers.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build professional relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow verbal or written instructions.
Location & details#
- Location: Mt Pleasant, Michigan.
- Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday, 1st shift, scheduled around your school hours.
- This is a paid position.
