About the role#
SageSure is hiring a Data Science Intern to join the Rising Pioneer Program. This 10-week program provides hands-on experience within our Data Science team. You will work alongside employees, leaders, and fellow interns to support business operations. We offer coaching, mentoring, and feedback from our professionals to help you grow. Interns are often considered for post-graduation roles within the company.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, testing, and evaluation of data science models and analytical solutions.
- Collect, clean, transform, and analyze both structured and unstructured data.
- Explore datasets to identify trends, patterns, and relationships that inform business decisions.
- Apply statistical and analytical techniques to support data-driven problem solving.
- Partner with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to translate needs into analytical approaches.
- Assist with model validation, performance evaluation, and documentation of methods.
- Develop visualizations and summaries to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and technical reviews.
- Learn and apply data science best practices regarding reproducibility, testing, and responsible data use.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a degree program focused on Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering with an anticipated graduation date in 2028.
- Foundational experience with data through coursework, academic projects, or prior work.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or another analytical language.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills.
- Basic understanding of statistics, data analysis, or machine learning concepts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Experience with data visualization tools, cloud platforms like Databricks, or predictive analytics is a plus.
