About the role#
Saga Education seeks a Federal Work-Study Math Tutor to support 6th-grade students at Whitcomb Middle School. This remote position focuses on building student confidence and mathematical understanding through a structured virtual tutoring model. You will work with two students at a time to provide consistent academic support.
What you'll do#
- Provide virtual, high-impact math tutoring to 6th-grade students.
- Support two students simultaneously during scheduled sessions.
- Prepare and deliver math lessons using the provided curriculum.
- Participate in asynchronous high-impact tutoring training.
- Maintain an on-camera presence during all tutoring sessions and necessary program activities.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to learn and apply high-impact tutoring techniques.
- Ability to engage and motivate middle school students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and adaptability when working with diverse learning needs.
- Successful completion of a CORI/SORI background check and fingerprinting.
- Current enrollment as a student, as this is a Federal Work-Study position.
Location & details#
- Modality: Remote.
- Schedule: Approximately 2.5 hours per week. Availability is required on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:45 PM to 4:00 PM ET.
- Term: Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Spring 2027.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
