About the role#
Saab is seeking an IT Support Co-Op to assist with daily technology operations in East Syracuse. This role helps improve user productivity and provides hands-on experience in a professional environment. You will support local operations and contribute to enterprise-wide IT initiatives for employees and contractors during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Provide daily technical support for workplace information and communications systems.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, and workstations.
- Manage permissions and access in Microsoft 365.
- Maintain data integrity and file system security.
- Communicate technical information clearly to users.
- Research and recommend hardware and software solutions.
- Assist with ongoing IT infrastructure and technology projects.
- Deliver basic training and guidance on common applications and tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- General understanding of Windows-based systems and basic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, routing, and VPN.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to customer service and follow-up.
- Exposure to Active Directory concepts is preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident, or protected individual.
Location & details#
- Location: East Syracuse, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through early August).
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: $18.24 to $20.27 per hour.
- Additional: A sign-on bonus is available to offset housing expenses for students residing outside the commuting distance. All candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
