About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in tax services. You will work alongside subject matter experts to identify tax savings opportunities for large-scale clients. The role focuses on state, local, federal, and international taxation, offering training to build professional expertise in the field.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for multi-state companies.
- Assist with tax controversies by preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare protests and draft technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship start.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the specific practice.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively in a team or independently.
- A valid driver's license.
