About the role#
Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. is hiring a Civil Engineering Student Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Waukesha, Wisconsin. You will work directly with experienced professionals on active infrastructure projects, gaining exposure to both field and office tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support field inspections for sewer, water, and paving construction projects.
- Operate measuring equipment to verify materials, line, and grade accuracy.
- Maintain project records and update documentation using electronic reporting software.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and municipal staff to keep projects on schedule.
- Answer questions from the public regarding construction activity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a civil engineering degree program or a related field.
- Basic math skills to perform measurements and estimations.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
