Rodan Energy Solutions Inc. is seeking a Power Systems Engineer Co-op student to join the team for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides hands-on experience in the energy technology sector, focusing on the design and support of power system engineering projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain exposure to the Ontario energy market and utility operations in an office-based environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design of protection and control, revenue metering, monitoring, and power quality projects.
- Support the design team in developing medium- and high-voltage metering, protection, and control systems.
- Prepare drawings, schematics, and diagrams for electrical distribution, metering, and communications systems.
- Perform engineering calculations related to metering and protection system configurations.
- Review and develop vendor equipment specifications.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support technical proposals and solutions engineering activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Registration in a recognized co-op program.
- Foundational knowledge of power systems, electrical safety principles, grounding, and industry standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience or exposure to tools such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB, or ETAP is an asset.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented approach with a strong customer service mindset.

- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September – December).
- Work Modality: Full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site (5 days per week).
