    About the role#

    The Application Engineering Intern assists in developing custom motor control center solutions for customers across various industries. You will manage your own projects with varying milestones while collaborating with Sales, Commercial Engineering, Development Engineering, Manufacturing, and Tech Support. You will report to the Senior Application Engineering Lead.

    What you'll do#

    • Review and understand customer specifications and drawings.
    • Interface with customers on technical and commercial aspects of orders.
    • Resolve and document exceptions and project questions.
    • Develop a working knowledge of Rockwell products.
    • Create and modify electrical schematics and mechanical models of electrical component assemblies.
    • Provide final factory build documents, including the Bill of Material (BOM).
    • Collaborate with manufacturing to provide build instructions and resolve technical issues.
    • Support the manufacturing team during the build process.
    • Assist on productivity or tools enhancement projects.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or a similar engineering field at an accredited university.
    • Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
    • Must be enrolled for at least one more semester after the internship concludes.
    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship provided).
    • Local or attending school within 50 miles of the Milwaukee headquarters.
    • Experience with PLCs, CAD, schematic design, Ladder Logic, SolidWorks, and Studio 5000.
    • Experience communicating engineering support, updates, and resolutions to customers and partners.
    • Potential to stay on part-time throughout the school year.

    Location & details#

    • Locations: Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Richland Center, Wisconsin.
    • Work Modality: Hybrid. Employees are expected to work on-site at a Rockwell location at least Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
    • Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
    • Compensation: $22-$32 per hour.
