About the role#
The AI Software Engineering internship offers hands-on experience with software development projects focused on artificial intelligence. You will build AI-powered solutions to improve software quality, security, and engineering efficiency. Throughout the summer, you will work alongside experienced engineers, architects, and AI champions on real-world projects that support enterprise-scale industrial automation. A dedicated mentor will guide you, and you will participate in company networking events.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with development teams to learn industry-standard software development environments and techniques.
- Participate in the full development life cycle, including agile methodology, system design, and test-driven development.
- Build software applications, services, and integrations using modern engineering practices and AI technologies.
- Gain experience with test automation, build management, and configuration management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Angular/Node, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript (TypeScript), Kotlin, Go, or Python.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools, LLMs, AI agents, machine learning concepts, or prompt engineering.
- Experience with Angular, React, and modern web application frameworks.
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, and cloud-native technologies.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and test automation frameworks.
- Interest in industrial automation software, PLC development, and manufacturing technologies.
Location & details#
- Locations: Mayfield Heights, Ohio or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Term: Full-time, June through August 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid. Employees are expected to work on-site at a Rockwell location on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $20 to $32, depending on skills and experience.
